Other notable crops included oats, barley, hops, rye, and potatoes. The most prominent resource of Falkovnia was grain, particularly wheat, and many considered the domain to be the breadbasket of the Core. In regards to insects, swarms of hornets, wasps, and yellowjackets were known to plague inhabitants of the domain during the summer season, while clouds of white flies infested the land year-round. Many were willing to risk encountering them though, for the forests of Falkovnia were a source of many herbs considered essential to healers. Dead, bleached white trees were most common in the eastern half of the domain.īesides brambles and poisonous plants, dangerous species known to inhabit the forests included assassin vines and crawling ivy. This coloration was present even in saplings and tree species that normally would have a light bark. Many of the trees in Falkovnia notably had an extremely dark coloration to their bark, bordering on being black. In the western half of the domain, broad-leaved trees were the most common, while in the eastern half it was evergreens. The predominant species of tree in Falkovnia included oak, beech, cherry, spruce, and pine. Lake Kriegvogel was the domain's only notable body of freshwater. In the summer time, much of the countryside was overtaken by fields of grain. However, these forests were increasingly shrinking because of the demand for more agricultural land. The domain was largely made up of rolling lowlands and dense, dark old-growth forests.
